Tour Description

Lisbon Hidden

Did you know that Lisbon has always been known for its bohemian side? Take a tour of Lisbon's alternative neighborhoods and discover the B side of the city

Lisbon is known for having some of the most exciting neighborhoods in Europe. Check out the now chic areas once populated by prostitutes and sailors and drive through the narrow and steep streets of Chiado and Bairro Alto. All artists and bon vivants circulate here so you can have a look at this lifestyle!

In this Tour you will pass by Praça Martim Moniz, the most multicultural area of the city and Mouraria (Moorish neighborhood) where some say that fado was born, of the Moors singing with its melancholic sounds.

Head to Chiado, once the center of intellectual life where writers and artists like Fernando Pessoa drank their absinthe and a spout (Brazilian espresso). You will also know Bairro Alto! You can go through the narrow Rua da Rosa, which crosses the neighborhood from one end to the other, now full of bars.

After the center, the adventure becomes bumpy when crossing Santos Design District, a place with bars and clubs specialized in ingenious alcohol shots. This is also an area that houses the famous house described in the novel Os Maias by Eça de Queiroz and, more recently, the house that Madonna chose to live in.

To end this cool and modern tour, you will arrive at LX Factory, the Lisbon version of Andy Warhol's studio and home to countless artists. This place, formerly known as an old abandoned industrial complex, is now an area for restaurants, coworking, startups, and offices in the creative industries. Here you will find urban art like no other by the hands of artists like Vhils and Bordalo II, two of the most famous street artists that Portugal offers.

See how Lisbon gets ready for the night, the parties, the bars, the Rua Cor-de-Rosa, the rhythms, the drinks, the terraces in the hidden gardens and the paths of temptation!

This is by far the most fun way to explore Lisbon and discover the places where, even today, all the bon vivant makes a living in a city that never sleeps.
